Also, if Peter from the Guild gives this a certificate of authenticity ( except for the insignia ), does that mean that his expertise should be questioned?
        Thanks, Dk

First the one on Peters site is fine. Nothing like the one posted.

To answer your second question what kind of question is that? I don't get it. Is Peter the last word on visors now? Peter has great general knowllege of TR materials but I certainly would not rank him as an expert in visors. Please don't start the sheep stuff up again. I seen it in too many threads this month.

Oh by the way, if that is your site the color piped visor you have with the greatcoat is pure crap too. Did Peter give you a COA on that one? The name tag is even worse. Not even close my friend.

          Cap

The sweat diamond on the example IS symmetrical. It's just not perfectly positioned over the runes. The sweat diamond on the cap originally posted is very irregular. I also believe the rune insignia under the sweatband should be gold, not silver. Also, this insignia shows wear, but the sweat diamond is completely intact. Also the RZM on the bill underside doesn't look right, besides the discoloration. It's not just ONE thing about the cap, it's others as well.
I posted an original example for comparison

            Thanks for your comments

Thanks everyone for the feedback on the visor. I will remove it from my site and
get it rechecked by Bill Shea or ??.

The color of the runes is gold when viewed in person. The camera and lighting can make a difference.

              Cap

Everyone was focused on the RZM stamp, including myself, but the lining material is always gold on RZM style ALLG. SS caps. The off-white lining looks very unusual. If cap is not original, why would someone manage to use what looks like oilcloth in the crown, but use an odd color lining?

Just for the record, silver embossed runes are occassionally found in original caps...

You should avoid using the word "always"!

                      Cap lining

You have a good point. I usually don't say "always". Having said this, can you postor cite an example of an Allgemeine SS enlisted RZM visor cap with another lining? Not saying it doesn't exist, but I've never seen one that was considered original.

Here is a cream colored officer quality lining in an EM hat in my collection. The maker is # 195. I just sold one very very similar to this to Doug O. not too long ago. The pumpkin orange lining is the most common for sure.

Peter that is a great looking cap. Who was #195? The work kind of looks like A. Muller.

                                NTZ,
195 is the RZM number of Heinrich Wille of Hanover.
