    regards Chris

Very nice RK. Handsome soldier, good photos and nice documents. Is he wearing a K&Q? It's unclear from your post if this cross belonged to this man? In any case, excellent stuff!

PS: Dietrich may be able to tell you if this K&Q 12 o'clock flaw frame fits with the award date on the doc.
    Best regards,

Very nice indeed. It really looks like a K&Q on the first picture.
Have you got the rest of this soldiers medals as well?

                    Hello Chris,

could you please post two pictures of the Ritterkreuz on the photos? On the first picture he clearly wears a K&Q but he seems to wear a different cross on the second picture. But thats maybe just the angle. - so bigger pictures of the photos (RK) would be great.

                    Thats a very fine grouping!

                    Stefan

A nice cross and the award date fits with the three dots (which are - contrary to the elaboration of a price guide - on both sides, not only on the obverse! )
It is unfortunate that some of the time line confusion was created due to the supplementation of groups with (late) K&Q, which seemed to have no previous owner.

One will never be absolutely sure, but based on groups which are relatively "safe" (direct form the awardee, not via a dealer or other third person), one can assume that the three flaws started to appear around the middle of 1944. On both sides!
But one always has to account for the possibility of a replacement piece!

How funny that anyone would imagine the flaws would be on one side only. Except for perhaps a few anomalies during the transition period, it would have to be on both sides, as it's part of the frame die, right?

                            A very desirable grouping.
