I would like to get the Italian members comments on these Heer M43 hat's.Any History behind them?


They are certainly not German manufacture, but I believe them to be original,pre 1945 Italian mfg..

Hello Glenn,

agree italian manufacture possible BerVen Padova factory (berretifico veneto) in my opinion
is original late wartime. The BERVEN cloth texile factory is submited at the german war
production during the years 1944/45

Glen, What about the buttons composition ?

One piece wood construction and they appear to have been turned using a lathe.


Would be nice to see a period photo of one being worn,or perhaps constructed very late and never issued.

Pre 1945 Italian manufacture, agree with Raffaello, probably Berven-Padova.
Seems you chose to own one Glenn
By these pictures the cap has little use, a surely Berven produced caps before and after the war.

Hi Glenn, I like your cap a lot, I have one identical to yours that originally came from a vet. Wish i had more info regarding where and when he took it, etc...My feeling is that they are very late war, hence the lack of any photo reference. Thanks to the Italian members for the manufacturer's information.
