    EK1 w/o mm "L/57" some questions about it

    Hello ;-) I know that this EK1 is from "L/57"Boerger & Co.
    According LDO (Leistungsgeinschaft Deutscher Ordenshersteller) requirements all EK1 needs to be marked by a mm (maker mark) "L/...". So if this EK1 is unmarked - should be this cross belong to the Präsidialkanzlei (PK-Group) "22" Boerger & Co? Have someone seen Crosse marked with "22" ?
    Or did see someone EK1 marked with "19"; "L/51"; "98"; "2"

    Stefan,

    If I understand your question right, I've never seen a B&Co EKI marked with anything but 'L/57', never '22'.

        What about this scenario. The company who made L/57 marked crosses also made crosses early in the war with no marks and for some reason only made LDO marked crosses after that. The absense of a 22 marked piece does not nessecarily rule out early unmarked official awards. Not saying this happened but it could have. We have unmarked early pieces, official award pieces that are marked i.e. 7, 20, 65, and LDO marked pieces like L/57. Whose saying a company couldn't have just made the first and last items?

          Interesting Steve ;
          Maybe some one knows if a minimum Anual Production Quota was required for a company to keep an active PKZ licence . For LDO licences the company sold what ever private purchase pieces - the demand was .

            I believe Steve's scenario has merit, especially the late war pieces not being stamped. I have an unmarked L/54 with the same flawed core as the unmarked L/57 here, also with a heavily flawed frame....

            I would suspect this heavily flawed frame to be late war.

                          See my other EK1 "L/54" Screw Back ;-) Now I'm able too define L/54 & L/57 from the core side
