      Sure my fellow Sgt Steiner

Here are the scans of my silver wound badge by L/57...I cannot scan the maker mark because this type of pin and hinge cannot be bend backwards completly, Lee should know what I mean.

I agree with Mike K when he says "...too many times I've seen exceptions to these rules pop up and genuine badges are called into question needlessly."

                  Hello Ian
Thanks for the photos. I do know what you mean. The pin rotates a little less than 90 degrees.

                  Hi Mike
Here are the better photos I owe you (thanks to my friend Jay). Hopefully these will help with a determination either way. I do appreciate your patience. Thanks again.

                            Hi,

Lee, thanks for the additional (clear ) images!

For me, it's a new type - obviously not for others though! It's different from other wound badges, with an interesting hinge/pin/catch construction. Both your and Ian's badges appear to be zincers (Ian's is easier to pick due to the worn finish - yours looks like it has a thickish gold plating which is showing some bubbling on the reverse), and imo definitely from the same die. They both share weak wreath details and a die "flaw" near the 11 o'clock position, as imaged.

For me, without actually handling the badges, I'd give 'em a tentative Thanks for sharing guys, I've certainly learned something too!

                            Regards
                            Mike K

PS: b*gger - another variant to look out for!

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

                              Hello Mike,

I was looking for this maker for a long time before I managed to purchase this interesting piece.

Still looking for your unmarked wide pin variant ..so if you ever want to part with yours, please let me know
