    L/56

    OK guys
who knows anything about L/56 marked stuff?
Seems to be quite a rare? A couple of L/56 crosses have turned up in the last few years, and a handful of sub badges, one IAB and maybe a wound badge, and that's all
One 2nd class spange appeared, but with nothing to judge it against, remained 'un-investigated'
I have found an L/56 1st class spange, and again, have never seen another!
Here is a montage of all L/56 marks and pins etc that have surfaced, the markings are from EK's and the pins: sub badges...

it has and had (in parts) a thick silvering, no doubt corroded in parts, and cleaned up to the base metal...

                      Tim

So hard to know when no other examples exist to compare. But for what it's worth I think it has possibilities.

Could I use your L/56 montage for the marker marks section of my website?

of course you may (the one framed red is a wound badge)

say this is a repro, wouldn't we have seen more? it's very well done, and hook/pin/catch match original (yet sparse) examples... Someone spent alot of time and thought doing this. But where are the others? good OR bad?

Your's is the only one I know of, Jon, but it looks believable to me.
                          Cheers, Frank

I cannot be of any help with a spange. All I have is an L/56 EK1
