    Pin marked IAB?

Does any member own an IAB that is marked on the pin? I see that GDM has one presently listed. I don't belive that there has ever been any discussion on such marked IAB's. If any member has one could they post a picture? Thanks for any information that may come available, Chester

    Hi Chet

I don't have an IAB, but what I do have is a WWII black wound badge with a round pin with the same L/18 stamp. Sorry I can't post the pics. Have to take my word for it. Thought this was a bit strange when it came to me, so I put it back. The wound badge is a heavy, stamped brass type which I think is the early type. The number is for B.H.Mayer if I'm correct.

Never seems to be a shortage of strange new items.

I have never seen or heard of one before...but it could be real. The mark on the pin appears to be well-done. What occurs to me is that if the "L/18" pin is authentic, it would be fairly easy to switch it to another badge.

I'm NOT suggesting that this is the case here, but for the price he is asking, I would want to be sure that the entire badge and pin are original. What prompts me to be inquisitive about this badge is that there seems to be some damage at the tip of the pin that doesn't line-up with the catch....suggesting a possible replacement. AGAIN...I'm not saying that this is the case,,,,but for THAT price I would have to consider the possibility before buying it.
