Third Reich made Imperial EK1?

Does this cross look ok to you,and if so am I right in saying it was made in the Third Reich period?

It's definitely the Third Reich style, but the reverse almost looks post-1945. Is that "L/17" on the pin?

George,that is L/17 on the pin which is non magnetic and appears to be made of brass.The cross itself is magnetic.This is one of the first pieces I collected,around 1976-77.

Dear Paul,

L/17 is not a known maker of 1939 EK1s. I know yours is of the Imperial design, but check out this thread where two L/17 1939 EK1s are shown by "rippa" that have the same reverse features like your cross.

I think George is right, my guess would also be post 1945.

Hi Paul.....

.....That pin w/that makermark is a dead giveaway. I have seen and handled 1939 EK 1's with the same pin and catch. I know that you're not enquiring of '39 EK's, but I thaought it worth mentioning. On the face of the 39's the numerals are very thin and the '3' is rounded. They stand out like the proverbial 'sore thumb.' Stear clear of them.

Like both George and Frank have said (I'll paraphrase here): "Not for my collection."
