    RSI "Gladius" collar insignia!
    Some RSI units were trained in Germany!

    Dog tag also appears to be related to them and issued while in Germany...
    Its a signals unit...(nachrichten)
    "Ital. = Italienisch" (Italian)

        Ln. = Luftnachrichten
        and
        Ers = Ersatz... = replacement

        So a Luftwaffe communications replacement unit...
        Many Italians served in the LW post September 1943 so perhaps he was an RSI soldier
        who switched over to the Luftwaffe and kept his gladius? (another theory...or these are 2 unrelated pieces,
        but the "Ital" abbreviation would mean Italian (national) unit!
