    Hi Andre,
That is a wise choice in the case of KM clasps if you have seen one real one if have seen them all. All originals I have seen look like the above example.

    Regards,
    Jody

      Hi Andre,

A lot of dealers have some bad stuff among the good, you just have to know what you are buying and do some research like you are now.

          Pair of Clasps

For some time now I have considered myself exceptionally fortunate to possess not only one but two mint, unissued, period cased examples of this extremely rare award. I have kept both waiting for the day when I might want to sell or trade one of them for something else to add to my collection.

When I saw this posting, I figured it presented a good opportunity to put the pair up for viewing and scrutiny by WAF members and the collecting fraternity.

As far as I am able to discern, the pair are essentially identical in all respects, measuring within what I figure to be an acceptable fractional variance of the dimensions given on this Forum and in reference books: width 25.7mm; anchor 20mm; cross 11.45 - 12.8mm; wreath width 3.9 - 4mm at different points. As I do not have a scale, I do not know what are their weights.

Since acquiring these (at different times) I have never removed them from the card upon which they are mounted. However, by holding the ribbon away from the card it is possible to note that there are four round, pointed needle retaining pins with a serrated effect at the bend point. The fire-gilting with burnished highlights is as perfect as the day they left the factory.

The only differences that I can see relate to the award cases: a very slight difference in the colour of the blue interior flocking of the case and removable card; a slightly different liner paper on the inside bottom of the case; the more obvious different hinge assemblies (both magnetic); the stencilling on the lids and dimensional variances.

It is my understanding that the firm of Klein in Hanau produced these clasps. Don't know which firm made the award cases.

          Thanks and regards,
          John

Close-up: Note that both "hole" impressions at the top of the anchor are, in fact, identically offset, although in this photo they do not appear quite so (see above picture).

Both boxes are good, the two I have one is marked Deschler, but the award was married by myself to that exact box.

Incidently my case is a paper hinge one.

How many of these were awarded? What was the purpose of this award? Did the awardee have to be a RK winner prior to being eligible for this award?

                            Hi Paul,
Only 37 KM Honor Roll clasps were awarded. Of course more were produced then given out like the RK des KvK.

You had to hold the EK 2nd and 1st class in order to qualify.

                            Regards,
                            Jody

                              KM Honor Roll Clasp

                              Hello folks,
I would like to share with you this decoration that I bought last month from a forum member. The piece is unissued and is still pinned to the cardboard insert.

I like how this clasp comes with a double hinged case. I wonder how uncommon these are when compared to the single hinged cases.

                              Regards,
                              Jody
