Hi Cicero

Detlev Niemann may be able to help you with a list, I remember a while ago here he mentioned that he knew someone who collected Hindenburg Crosses for the maker's marks. As I recall he said he had over 100.

I would be interested in seeing the list as well if you manage to locate it. It would be interesting to see if most of the makers were backyard family type makers or some of the more known jewellers jumped in and produced these as well. Considering the numbers of medals required, I am guessing both of these cases would be partly correct.

there is a "list" but it's not available for a reason that i cannot reveile here on the forum

mine is....

My cross is marked "R.V. 61" then underneeath that "PFORZHEIM".
The"1" in the "61" is kinda strange. It's a bit smaller than the "R.V.6". It sorta looks like: a "7" without the european slash, a heavily serifed "1", or the left half of a heavily serifed"T".

Sorry no scan yet. I've got the camera but can't figure out how to import the image from the camera to Photoshop.

This is an interesting thread--was in Gemany last month and this very topic came up with some fellow BDOS collectors. Seems they have a friend who only collects Hindenburg Cross medals by maker marks. Has a wall filled with them and still looking for more--that was ALL he collected. Each to his own I guess. Mike
