Black LW side cap opinions, please . . .

Here is a LW o/s or side cap for your consideration. My experience with cloth caps is somewhat limited but this one looks pretty convincing to me but I've been wrong before. It is actually more of a very dark "navy blue" than true black. Some refer to this style as a "panzer" cap but I'm not sure if these were only used by panzer units. Thank you for your opinions!

Yes, but is it an all original example? Thanks again . . .

I would say yes, but when dealing with something like this you would do better to listen to Mike Davis or OSS, who will hopefully give it the benefit of their opinions.

Has the lining been opened to zig-zag sew the eagle on?

HG would wear black caps. Is the wool material ribbed on this cap? If so, is it a good sign? I just learn. I mean we just saw (in other thread) an original cap made of a ribbed wool but it was a different material. I wonder if there were many different types of ribbed wool or just one/two/a few and how common it is to see any ribbed wool in original uniforms because I don't believe I saw it often. Does any body know?

Need to see a full front view of the eagle/ cockade. From the first photo the eagle looks hand applied. Is that correct? And it does look like a very dark blue cap.

Looks zig-zag to me, but I could of course be wrong. (Photo from Post #3, rotated, cropped and enlarged.)

Eagle is machine applied, but looks rather funny, not good ...
Distance between 2 wings, detail of the breast, detail of one leg is missing etc ..
