    LAH HAPAG liner Porcelain!

    Hi,

I bought two small plates at eBay about a year ago. The seller was an Englishman who was the highest bidder at an auction house in England. (I don't remember where) I got the catalog from the Auction house telling that the owner of the plates was an old sailor from the Royal navy. It included an old document with the Swastika.

The story says that units of LAH served on board the HAPAG (Hamburgerline as guards) in prewar time. In 1945 a HAPAG liner were stopped and plundered by Royal Navy sailors.

And a rubbish story to boot, there is tons of this stuff out there that purports to be LAH but is Hapag-Lloyd

I agree, these pieces were the dinnerware on trains. Someone awhile back posted china thing that it was LAH and it had the same logo as your piece.

I've got a small silver schnapps glass with the same logo, unfortunately sold as LAH items, but it was not too expensive, and I suspect the individual just didnt know as opposed to sought to deceive, it still a cute piece. I like this dinnerware, both my sister and I collect Hutschenreuther figurines, some are quite similar to the Allach, and quite nice looking, although they fetch no where near what the SS items do.
