    DK article .......... update

    In the article on http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/germ...ross_index.htm
    J. Calero and I wrote "The rare embroidered Crosses in Silver would have been privately made, unauthorized examples (if they exist)"

We have the proof that it was attributed - I attach pics of the uniform of General der Artillerie a.D. Franz Barckhausen (Chief of the Military Economic and Armaments Staff, Chief of the Primary Traffic Control, France and Belgium (from July 1942 to April 1943)
Führer-Reserve, detached to Paris for Special Assignments until 20 July 1943. Retired on 1 August 1943).
He was awarded the Deutsches Kreuz in Silber on 31 August 1943

I was told about another example for a LW General

The article will be updated (+ some observations/corrections reported by collectors) as soon as time permit

          Hi Francois,

          pretty nice Uniform ensemble!

Gen Barckhausen got his DKiS as a special Decoration as he retired. the star was engraved on the reverse with his name and the signature of A.H. There was an article about his DKiS in the German OuE-Magazine some times ago.

He got also some seldom foreign awards as I can see from the pictures.

Is it possible to post a picture of his ribbon bar??

          Best greetings

          Daniel

Sorry, the uniform is not mine, but if the owner see your request, he will probably send me a pic that I will post

To illustrate Daniel's comments (article about his DKiS in the German OuE-Magazine some times ago).

Hannibal: sorry, it is not my uniform, but if the owner agrees to send me pics, I will post them

                  François,

Thank you for the update - just another example, in my opinion, where this forum exceeds all others. Simply put, the research that goes into topics here, from Heer fallschirmjaeger badges to crosses of all flavours, is unrivalled.

I think that I detect the flaw in the "1941" date that was earlier discussed in regards to the cloth DKiG. Interesting!

                  Thank you again. Best regards,

                  Mike

                    Hi Mike,
I noticed too the flaw at the top of the "9" in the date "1942". This is the same as the ones found on the gold wreaths.

                        François,

I can't remember if I mailed you about this....

There's a small error in the DK article... in the matrix where it describes the details of each manufacturer - number of rivets, etc there is an error on the Klien '134' crosses, as it shows only 1 rivet !

                        Regards

                            Salut B.,

Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais j'aime beaucoup plus cette vareuse présentée sur ce buste que sur son support habituel... va savoir !
