I have already been watching this and it will be interesting to see if it sells at that price.

Im with Pete on that wrench too....bit high in price & the markings look odd.

They look like they were stamped by hand rather than machine rolled.

It could be a very late war made tool, when quality standards were low?? I doubt its a "field made" example.

Id go for it if it had a reasonable starting bid or Buy Now price...99E + shipping & exchange puts it out of contention.

I thought the same about the markings - and especially that it looks so Shiny and New.
Look at the angle of Z's 2 and 3.



I would say that these letters are all indevidually stamped on.

Certainly does not look field used even though there are signs of pitting.



I did make him an offer but I have had no reply.

Will be an interesting one to watch.

Something I just noticed.

The tool end has been welded to the handle.....[emoji848]



Now not having one in my collection or having one in my hands, this may be how these are made. Tool end is machined & the welded to the handle section.

Or this was a field repair....🧐

I think it looks so clean because it’s been wire wheeled or at least chemically treated to clean off the rust.

Appart from the 'A' - all the rest of the letters and numbers look very fresh Glen.

Shame that there are no pictures of the other side other than this - but I see what you mean about the join line/area.



Did you notice the Castle imprint just before the stamped letters?



Could be Toolmakers logo/stamp - Might be worth investigating.

- Fuze Setter Cleaned Up -


....... Ok .......

So here is the Fuze Setter after a bit of a cleanup.
Sadly I did not get the thing freed off as I wanted to - just did not want to ruin or damage it





Still happy with the result - will now give it a good coat of oil to prevent rusting up again.

Just for comparison to my 'Shiny One'
