Waffen SS Reversible Plane Tree 1/2 Smock

First post. New to WA.com. Beginning to move a collection I have had for 25 years. Got from the widow of the vet. All authentic. Looking for comments and perhaps value on this Waffen SS Reversible Plane Tree 1/2 Smock. Cuff elastics are good. waist elastic not functioning. May be unissued as it is so clean and bright with no damage or repairs. Original string. Interestingly it has a #1 and a #2 printed on the Fall colors side and just a #1 printed on the Spring side. All foliage straps in place.

This is the wrong section (want to be moved to the SS section), but sorry to tell you, the smock is an SM Wholesale reproduction made sometime in the last decade. Not even an older repro, and not very close to an original planetree smock.

Very surprising, as this smock has a nice history : "a collection I have had for 25 years. Got from the widow of the vet. All authentic."

"Buy the ITEM, NOT THE STORY! "
Long time collectors have learned this (sometimes the HARD WAY)

Sorry to tell you folks, but this is original. It has been stored for 75 years. It is mint. Maybe they based the reproductions on this or something, but it is, as I said, part of a collection I have had for 25 years. Why do you think it is fake? Were they faking these in 1994?

As I am new here I am still learning. If someone can explain how to move this post or just do it for me I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I'm sorry, this smock is 100% repro. The leaf/brown pattern is entirely made up. It is printed with ink, not dye. The construction is incorrect. I'm sorry to tell you, but anyone who is slightly familiar with SS camo will instantly identify this as an am wholesale reproduction

Smwholesaleusa.com. there you'll find photos of these exact repros, compare. There is physically no possible way this existed for more than a decade.

Good to know my original is with $15-25K.

"Exact museum quality replica. Colors duplicated from a mint surviving original. Perfect in every detail from the HBT linen reed green pockets, correct charcoal thread, correct double stitched, correct rayon neck cord. These are exact in color and print of the rare hand screen smocks. Used from the french campaigns til the end of the war. No detail has been overlooked, if you've always wanted one of these brilliant colored smocks... you will probably never see them again. They are so close to the originals and look like "dead stock" smocks. They are exact replicas of the 15k-25k original we replicated."

Compare to this real one (photo from collector's guild). Look at the green and orange splotches. SMW has a made up, repeating pattern that is nothing like originals. And yes, I've spent years studying hand screened patterns. Yours is 200% SMW.

                        A few interesting pieces

Here is the Fallschirmjager helmet, 5 generals shoulder boards, a GAK field cap and a couple of paper items. There is plenty more that I am sorting and pricing. PM if you see something you want.

Please start a separate thread on the para helmet in the fallschirmjager subform.
                          Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.
