It looks OK to me. I've never seen the shortlived 1940 device in silver before, but that one looks right.

Too bad it is sooooooooo expensive! Don't these dealers know that the only reason we honest, hard working reebon barz guys collect these in the first place is because we are too poor to afford the MEDAL bars?!

      Schluchz!

      You are so right, Rick!

Where are the times I paid 1 DM per ribbon and 1 DM per Attachment???????

So my child, my wife and poor me we have to eat only bread for one month that I can afford that bar.

      Best regards

"Penny-pinchers"? Do you mean, like, "niggardly"?

                          Hi Rick,

                          Mailbox is clean.

BTW, THE RULES allowed only one RAD long service award for wearing and one RAD together with one Wehrmacht long service award. So we see, even in the overruled 3rd Reich there were guys not following the regulations.

                          Best regards

                          Daniel

Here is the rest of the full bar, reduced so it will fit by Mark. Guess why Ricky bought it?

And the reverse. Most of the RAD bars I have seen have used this dark brown color backing.

This guy was certainly an officer. The KVK2 is a nice early war one. (Well, so was his Bavarian MVO4X!). I suspect that since the RAD long services exactly followed the Wehrmacht 4, 12, 18, 25 years classes, at some point somebody just decided they could wear them the same was as members of the military did. It's fairly common to find these this way.

Whether the regulations were ever changed, or simply flouted, I dunno. But I'd say by mid-war, it seems like "two at once" had come into fairly widespread use. That's why I would like to see some "in wear" photos, especially if dated or that we can date by what the awards are.

Thanks Mark for fixing these for me!
