A kind help about Wiking documents....

    Hi to everyone....
I need your help ... for some time I have these documents related to SS Pioner Batallion 5 .....
first of all a kind opinion on the first ( Walter May)...is it original?

while on the second, I would like to know your thought.
Here we have the various Wiking campaigns, since 1942, typed on very old and fragile paper, but I wonder what sense could have the stamp with the nazi eagle on a document certainly drawn at the end if not after the war .... a fake? or what....
Surely someone has written with a modern pen the reference to the division ... but I can not understand the writing next to the stamp ......
    Thanks for your help
    Giorgio

I'm not sure what this is (other than a list of engagements), or if it is authentic, but the signature is a least trying to be that of Max Schäfer, the Oakleaves and Honor Roll Clasp winner. I don't know of a verified signature with which to compare it.

This could be a battle calendar to add in the Wehrpass of soldiers from this particular division.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

but, if you know,...this calendar was added in the Wehrpass at the end of the war?

Normally it was added from time to time, when the clerk has time to do it, I don't think/know of any regulation regrading when or how to add battle dates on the Wehrpass.

The word in pen ink below the Feldpost stamp is "Hauptm." for Hauptmann. One could assume the list refers to an army unit's history. I'm not certain what the other term is as the spelling is unclear to me.

Thanks again Angel....but it goes on to be a strange things...if so, you should see the differences between the different additions...I think he was typed at one time....
                  I don't know...

Only explanation is that was done at the end of the war to update Wehrpasses or provide soldiers with his wartime service, who knows.

A lot of units still keep records after the capitulation and promote and award medals to his members during the days after May 8th, 1.945.

                        Hello !

I just wanted to confirm that this is the official battle calendar of SS-Pz.-Div. Wiking,
as it is listed in the book by Jean Mabire.

I fully agree, with the explanation of Angel. Depending on the unit, sometimes the battle calendars
are extremely short, like "Einsatz im Osten 1941-1943" or so.
So perhaps for these cases, they produced this complete battlecalendar, to be added to the Wehrpass.

As Angel mentioned, the division had plenty of time to produce this after the Kapitulation:
According to the above book, the Pi-Btl. 5 (last Kdr.: Hauptsturmführer Eberhard Heder) fought the
last rearguard action on 5.5. near Walkersdorf and reached the rest of the Division NE of Graz.

When the Kapitulation was announced on 8.5., it was decided, that the division would try to cross
the Demarkationslinie, to surrender to U.S. forces, instead the Red Army. Via Graz, Tamsweg, Radstadt
the division marched to the west and crossed the Demarkationslinie on 12.5.45, where it reached
the U.S. forces. According the book, the division was then held in captivity until the end of month
in the Tal der "Kleinen Arl", before it was finally sent to Eberfing (Bavaria) on the 1.6.45.

                        Best regards,

                        Archi
