    1939 EK2 Maria Schenkl

    Hello to all,

Found this nice little set today at a local gun show. The EK2 looks to be in unused condition and the ring is marked '27'. The cross came with a full-length of ribbon and its paper packet. Unfortunately, the top of the packet is torn away but it is the correct packet for a cross made by Anton Schenkl's Nachfolger (Maria Schenkl).

    Best regards,
    Tom

I also found this Faithful Service Cross at the same gun show and couldn't pass it up for $20.

      Best regards,
      Tom

              nice little coup 'd etat

Very nice, I've got to start going back to more gun shows and
hopefully find some loot like that...

Thanks to all for the comments.

With gun shows, I can usually find something nice in German medals and for good prices too. Once in a while, though, I do leave a gun show empty-handed. I sometimes prefer a gun show over the big military shows: There are so many medals to see at the military shows that I get overwhelmed, but a gun show is more like a treasure hunt for me.

                Best regards,
                Tom

Great finds Tom! I like the EK2 and I rarely see a 25 year that I don't like!

I find gun shows in Texas to be hit or miss.. Or perhaps I don't rub my lucky Iron Cross before I leave the house like you do!

                  thank you, Scott

                    Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply. The Faithful Service Decoration was dark and ugly when I bought it, but I knew a little silver-dip would bring it back.

                    Best regards,
                    Tom
