Thanks for your thoughts on the plate.

I wasn't sure on this one and have debated it previously with collectors. I did think it would sit happily in either a NS or Christian household being not particularly overt in its statement either way but I see the point about 'for all' as opposed to just German.

I have another one which says pretty much the same thing. I'll post when I get a picture of it done.

    Cheers,
Interesting, but "for all" may not be used as we would interpret it today. In the TR world-view, only Germans were important and considered. All may only appy to everyonel within a particulatr group -here only aryans. Not sure that we can know for sure either way.

Steve, as you know I think this is a magnificent print and it fits well into your collection. Thanks for showing this treasure here. The history of this building and its importance to the ss was epic as you are well aware, which makes collecting items like this so rewarding.

Yes! as was Anton Holzner who wrote Ewige Front. published by Nordland-Verlag- Bucherei which used a very nice Viking ship under sail as a logo.

The slipcover or dustcover is in great shape. The tree design is nicely printed on the hardbound cover.

As an aside, did you know the German-Jewish born Dr.Mosse once actually saw Hitler at a rally when he was a youth? His best book in my opinion was "The Crisis of German Ideology" published in 1964 - I highly recommend it .
Thanks for the book tip. A few more related docs here

That's interesting. Does anyone remember reading that Heydrich had a death bed conversion to Christianity?

I've never heard that, but if true, very interesting as well. I will have to do some research on it. Thanks for mentioning this.

Steve, now you really have my attention with these. Can you explain some more about each document. All from that same man you posted the photo of?

How did you get all these docs from the same ss man? Amazing that they remained together all these years. Maybe I missed your explaination - if already posted, please just refer me to the post #. Thanks!

                    Don,

Yes, the documents are all from the same man, I have a bout 100 pieces regarding this fellow. The reason I bought the documents is because the file contains the extremely rare award book and certificate for the Germansiche Leistungsrune.

Although I've owned the file for 10 years or so now I've not really looked at it very much, its only because of the cultural interest that I have done so recently.

I'm afraid my language skills do not enable me to give you a full understanding of the pieces but the ones I picked seem related to the marriage of the man, and include his ancestry chart, engagement and marriage petition,a certificate of the marriage. Our German colleagues will take no time at all in explaining it I'm sure!

There were quite a few pieces of paper to get through to get approval to marry! Attached is a picture from one of Weitzel's books with Himmler's Command with respect to marriage. I do have a translation for this, as follows:

Himmler issued the following Engagement and Marriage Order.

                    1. The SS is a band of German men of strictly Nordic descent chosen according to certain principles.

                    2. In accordance with National Socialist ideology and in the realization that the future of our Volk [people] rests upon the preservation of the race through selection and the healthy inheritance of good blood, I hereby institute the “Marriage Certificate” for all unmarried members of the SS, effective January 1, 1932.

                    3. The desired aim is to create a hereditarily healthy clan of a strictly Nordic German sort.

                    4. The marriage certificate will be awarded or denied solely on the basis of racial health and heredity.

                    5. Every SS man who intends to get married must procure for this purpose the marriage certificate of the Reichsführer SS.

                    6. SS members who marry despite having been denied marriage certificates will be stricken from the SS; they will be given the choice of withdrawing.

                    7. Working out the details of marriage petitions is the task of the “Race Office” of the SS.

                    8. The Race Office of the SS is in charge of the “Clan Book of the SS,” in which the families of SS members will be entered after being awarded the marriage certificate or after acquiescing to the petition to enter into marriage.

                    9. The Reichsführer SS, the leader of the Race Office, and the specialists of this office [Referenten] are duty bound to secrecy on their word of honor.

                    10. The SS believes that, with this command, it has taken a step of great significance. Derision, scorn, and incomprehension do not move us; the future belongs to us!

                    The Reichsführer SS
                    H. Himmler

In addition to that: since Himmler attended quite some wedding ceremonies personally - no wonder since this was one of the two key rituals of his agenda, the second was forcing the SS-families bearing children for preserving and protecting the good blood as he defined - it would have been too expensive to present silver goblets.

So Allach realized wedding goblets made of porcelain so there was a cheaper but still fine alternative - documents regarding the produced numbers haven´t surfaced yet but I believe they were made in very limited numbers and either are still in families hands or have been destroyed or just thrown away over time since their outward appearance is elegant but pure and without big decorations - and no runes, of course.
Conservative and the opposite of all kippers and curtains and so easy to underestimate - just like Himmler.
                      Hi Guys,

Here something that is maybe of some interest. Two porcellain wedding goblets. The photo is part of an article from Militaria magazine year 2003.
                      Both are Allach marked underneath.

Just an observation but there have been four of the so called SS Wedding Caskets available for sometime now, quite a variation in price too at $3995, $3300, $3295 and $2965. A recent fad that has faded a little perhaps.

Or it could be just the Economy.

I owned the brooch below about 6 years ago now. The only one I've ever seen. Anyway, thought it might be relevant to this thread.

I was able to acquire a postcard that incorporated the inscription on the brooch.

The inscription, acc. to the postcard, is from the oath of the Nordmark HJ.

                                The oath reads (in English):

The Land on which we stand is Holy Land.
Free, we receieved it, and free we wish to remain,
and take as we need that which belongs to us.
                                We will never buckle.
Loyal, we shall stand together, until death, if God gives us the strength.
                                United for eternity.
And you want our strength and our honour
Our last drop of blood stands between this.
We shall never let ourselves be forced into slavery.
Freedom is for us, higher than life.
Loyal, we shall stand together, until death, if God gives us the strength.
                                Rather death, than slavery.
