            Hi dcdefend,

            that is a nice postwar Pekuro, these are identifyable by the 1890 on the top of the sweatshield, along with the Pekuro imprint in the front of the sweatband, plus one or two other traits that others will know of.

                    One of the reasons I opened this thread was to get as many different versions of the known Pekuro liners out in the open, so that we could use it as a reference point to stop chaps accidentally buying post war visors that have been modified to represent wartime visors.

                    DC, I have to ask, did you buy this cap as an original or as a repro?

                      Pekuro visor

                      This hat was bought in the late 60s as an original (I believe) and has been in one collection for the last 40 years.

                        JT--I believe this is a Pekuro logo variant, and one that was used only for a short period of time during the early war period. The wording is the same, except for the Gothic font. Sweatband had the correct Pekky perforation pattern and the velvet rim:
